About Path to Whole Health
MEET THE PRACTITIONER & Staff
Dr. Leonid Gordin
Leonid Gordin, M.D., specializes in Holistic Medicine and non-pharmacological pain management. In collaboration with your primary care physician, Dr. Gordin provides care that is healing-oriented, and emphasizes the centrality of the physician-patient relationship. The goal is to work closely with you to develop comprehensive complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) treatment program, based on understanding of the physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of the individual. This approach encompasses not only disease management, which targets troublesome symptoms through natural, less-invasive interventions, but above all encourages active patient participation throughout the health restoration process. This includes identifying and removing barriers that are blocking the body's innate healing response, as well as engaging mind, body, spirit, and community to facilitate healing.
Dr. Gordin applies this medical and lifestyle approach to his own life as well as his family's. He has three children, three granddaughters, and a loving and supportive wife of 38 years, who also works at Path to Whole Health as a nurse. Dr. Gordin meditates daily, practices qi gong, is an avid learner, and loves to travel with his family and experience different cultures.
Yana Gordin
Yana Gordin administers IV infusions and related treatments at Path to Whole Health.
She graduated from university in Russia, Leningrad, with a Master’s Degree in Library Sciences, and started working as a librarian at the First Leningrad Medical School, where Dr. Gordin was a 5th year medical student. The rest is history. Though Yana ultimately went on to pursue a degree in midwifery (following marriage and kids), her Library Science degree was clearly not in vain. :)
After immigrating to the United States in 1987, mastering the English language, Yana graduated from Concordia University West Suburban College of Nursing in Chicago, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
When not assisting Dr. Gordin at Path to Whole Health, you can find Yana at Newton Wellesley Hospital greeting babies into the world, as a labor & delivery nurse. Yana and Leonid Gordin have been married for 38 years, and have three beautiful children they’re proud of, and three precocious and adorable granddaughters.
Yana takes her patient’s health narratives to heart. Yana loves to travel, believes in the role of good nutrition, exercise, de-stressing, open communication, and the power of love.
